An adjusted and slightly streamlined program has been prepared to best meet our delegates’ needs.
We have the following updates below:
- In light of the large number of interstate delegates and presenters who will now no longer be able to travel to WA we will now be opening up our Thursday workshops to online attendees, so that you can take advantage of these great learning opportunities no matter where you are. All workshops will be live online, and for those attending workshops in WA, in-person sessions will still be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre so you can still come along as planned, mingle with local colleagues, and make the most of this PD day. If you have already registered and would like assistance with updating your registration, please contact us at [email protected].
- Both international and local keynotes, two plenaries and a social event will take place in Perth on Friday 20 August. These will be live and streamed online to those who can’t attend in person.
- Oral presentations will be presented in an online format on Saturday 21 August, so we strongly encourage submissions from all delegates who are keen to share their research in the field of eating disorders, regardless of where you are located and your capacity to travel to Perth.
- All poster presentations will be made available through the conference website and all registered delegates will have access to these. Poster presenters will be asked to upload a PDF of their presentation along with the option of a short 3-minute audio presentation, briefly discussing their poster.
- Our international keynote speaker Dr Jennifer Gaudiani will be hosting a live extended Q&A session on the morning of Saturday 21 August where delegates will have the opportunity to submit questions regarding all your trickiest medical and physical health-related queries around eating disorders and have these answered in an interactive online setting by this world-renowned expert.

COVID UPDATE
Program Update
ANZAED takes state and federal government health based travel and meeting guidelines in the re-scheduling of sessions as in-person or online.
Due W.A. border restrictions in most Australian states and territories, the Thursday workshops will now be streamed online for the benefit of those who cannot travel to Perth.
Satellite Locations
- Satellite events in Adelaide, Brisbane and Auckland are still proceeding at this stage. Should lockdowns or meeting size restrictions come into place, these events will be cancelled.
- The Sydney Satellite event has been cancelled due ongoing lockdowns.
- The Melbourne Satellite has been cancelled due to uncertainty about the lockdown and COVID risk health status
Changes to registrations.
We will automatically convert all cancelled sessions to online registration. Any refunds will be issues following the conference. PLEASE do not contact the ANZAED office unless it is urgent, as we are very busy "pivotting".
Please check our online program for more information about all the great options on offer.
Note: current WA state government restrictions mandate that for interstate travellers to enter WA without needing to quarantine on arrival it is required that there be zero incidents of community transmission in the state the person is traveling from for at least 2 weeks prior. Please check this website for further information: https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/covid-communications/covid-19-coronavirus-controlled-border#lr
We are confident that the 2021 ANZAED Hybrid Conference will provide the highest quality professional development opportunity for all who work in the field of eating disorders. We are excited to share this dynamic program with you, our valued colleagues, and to connect as a field in whatever way we are able to at the time. And of course there is the added benefit of Friday and Saturday sessions being recorded for later viewing
